Description

The traditional Chinese pillow box is a well known object with its elegant sloping lid. Used by travelers to guard their money and jewels during the night. They would place important valuables in the elegant box and then sleep on it - hence the name. Our leather pillow box is handcrafted and dyed a deep red. The antiqued surface is then decorated by hand using a delicate gold leaf. Handles and closures are brass and iron. 11" x 4" x 4.75"
