China Star & Original Source is an American company that creates and wholesales authentic Asian & Chinese giftware to quality retailers and museum stores. We maintain our primary office in Beijing, our domestic warehouse in Prineville, Oregon and a sales office just north of San Diego. Our on-going presence in China has allowed us to bypass the many layers of “middlemen” and “direct importers.” More importantly, we maintain personal relationships with the artisans and craftsmen that create our beautiful products. The result is the ability to provide unique and culturally authentic gift items while maintaining low prices and outstanding quality.

Our products:
We manufacture, source, and export more than 800 gift items, ranging from Chinese folk art and contemporary Asian gifts, to New Age and Feng Shui products.  We offer a variety of Chinese Folk Art pieces, focusing on museum-quality replicas of traditional Chinese wares. Items in this category include: Silk bags, silk boxes, cloisonné/enamel wares, snuff bottles, Chinese fans, porcelain shard boxes

Our Asian "Tabletop" collection includes an assortment of traditional and contemporary Chinese teacups, tea sets, tea accessories, chopsticks, and table linen sets.

The Eastern Religion category includes a wonderful assortment of Buddha statues, Kwan Yin statues, elephants, Tibetan singing bowls, and our bestselling Dragon Wash Basin.

We also offer a variety of Feng Shui and New Age items. The Feng Shui category includes money toads, Chinese bells, Chinese coins (I-Ching), Fu Dogs, dragon-headed tortoises, and Chinese wealth hangers. The New Age category includes quartz Crystal Balls, cast-iron cauldrons, incense, incense burners, and much more.

Our jewelry line runs from trendy fashion jewelry to a rich assortment of ethnic jewelry pieces. Many of our pieces are made from Cinnabar or Cloisonné. We also sell the ever-popular magnetic wrap jewelry.

Company Story / Background

Ten years ago, two Americans pedaled their bikes past the vast expanse of the Forbidden City in Beijing, China. Their discussion amidst the dust and traffic of the teeming Chinese metropolis outlined a plan to build a wholesale gift business. While the business idea was fairly simple - the actual implementation was wonderfully ambitious. Instead of depending on overseas agents or purchasing from export companies at trade shows, China Star & The Original Source would bypass every middleman and establish their own business foothold in China to purchase directly from manufacturers. The challenges were enormous but so were the potential benefits to their clients.

Today, their tenacity has made The Original Source a premier supplier of Chinese folk art and gifts. Our sales office is located just 30 minutes north of San Diego in Vista CA, while our warehouse is located in Prineville Oregon.  However, our primary business office remains in Beijing China. Our president, Lewis Sperber, a full-time resident of China, can ensure the outstanding quality & fair pricing that our US clients deserve. Our United States sales & business office is managed by Geoffrey Carroll.
